Kolping

Kolping Society is an organization working for the overall development of workers irrespective of caste and creed. This organization was formed in the name of Adolph Kolping of Germany. Its international office is in Germany and its national office is in Chennai. Kolping Alleppey began its functioning in the Year 1984. We have 126 Kolping groups with 1561 members. The Kolping Alleppey has Six Forane with 6 federations. The Alleppey Kolping Society is functioning through various activities, such as income-generating programs, awareness classes, training programs, housing programs, vocational training programs, etc. Its fourfold slogan, be a committed Christian, be a good father or mother, be a good citizen, be a good worker” tells its whole aim and objective. The Kolping Alleppey is functioning with the collaboration of governmental and non-governmental agencies. The fellow people become more inspired by the existing Kolping member’s ways of living and participation in the various activities and are enthused to start up groups and absorb in the allied activities. An atmosphere of unity and a sense of ‘we-feeling’ has been generated among the Kolping members through the weekly meetings, training, awareness program, and various income generation activities. More and above, they have developed their caliber through active participation in Kolping activities. The thrift collection and the various income generation program run by the Kolping members helped them to obtain a decent income for the family and helped them to strive for self-reliance.

The vision of Kolping India is building up a society based on love, truth, justice, brotherhood and cooperation, rooted in communion with God.

Mission:

Kolping India, following the footsteps of its Master and guidance given by Blessed Adolph Kolping, mainly aims at creating a new order in the society based on love, peace, truth, justice, solidarity and fraternity wherein the values of the Gospels are translated into action with a stress on basic Christian atmosphere spiritually and with a focus on self sufficiency economically, both enabling the members to live a life in accordance with the divine plan of salvation.

Focus:

Kolping India’s main focus is welfare of the Kolping members.  It enables the members to attain self-sufficiency in all spheres spiritual, economic, cultural and social and to live a community life based on harmony, fraternity and freedom.  In other words, it aims at integrated development of human person as individual and in the community.
